The JUSTICE in Dengvaxia

The JUSTICE in Dengvaxia

The truth is we will never know the truth. No matter how elaborate the inquiry. People are clouded by emotions, self-interests, biases, even science. Highlighting bad science (bad decision) that offsets the good of science (much needed, time-tested immunization program) is failure of science. Who really is at fault? That may not be the question.

Finding fault is never enough unless we realize everyone has a fault, somehow. Finding fault is to naught unless it changes the system, attitudes, and behavior to the good of our countrymen especially the Filipino children.

Do we really need someone to blame to reinforce our nation’s check and balances, instill humility and cautiousness in our leaders, promote excellence in our healthcare, inculcate mindfulness and responsibility in the Filipino parent. Will finding fault at any level really bring any of these? Has our nation changed with the imprisonment of corrupt politicians? Is there no other corrupt politician?

What is justice that doesn’t change our nation for the better. What is truly just for the Filipinos? A big sum of money from an international company? Impeccable science? People behind bars? How about from now on appropriate and Judicious USE of money for health, Optimal practice of science, and self-denying service for the Filipinos? May the Hope of health, still, and faith in a sovereign God who himself heals, fill our nation and our countrymen, affected by Dengvaxia or not. May we move on towards better.  That is just.

– Just some Ninang thoughts

“..for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23-24)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
