FORETOLD (Easter Preaching)

FORETOLD

Week 5: The Righteous Victor
(From the preaching of Pastor Nixon Ng)
Read Isaiah 52-53
Isaiah speaks of the failure of Israel (and Our Failures) to do as God commands and accomplish God’s will.  But  Isaiah FORETOLD of a Wise King, a Humble Servant, A Faithful Witness, an Obedient Sacrifice and a Righteous Victor who  will succeed (and Succeeded!) in Accomplishing the Will of God— JESUS CHRIST, Our Lord and Savior!
1. Jesus can save us another way but CHOSE the path of sacrifice and service demonstrating His Love and showing we are Worth His suffering.
“Behold, my servant shall act wisely;
he shall be high and lifted up,
and shall be exalted.” (Isaiah 52:13)
“Sacrifice is the background where love shines the brightest.”
2. God willed that Jesus would die for our sins. Jesus submitted to the will of His Father.
There is a deep longing and conviction  in our soul that treasures more than  the life of a loved one— but that the life of this loved one will become a blessing to, if not save,  the lives of many.  This originated  from the Heart of God who willed His Son to Save Mankind from sin that man may (truly) Live.
“Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
he has put him to grief… the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.” (Isaiah 53:10)
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:17)
3. Jesus, the Righteous one, died for our sins.
Sin is Us wanting to be in the place of God and taking charge.   Salvation is God replacing man to pay the penalty for our sins.  Thus, making us righteous, not because of who we are but because of what God has done.
“Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.” (Isaiah 53:11)
4. JESUS became VICTORious over death and Rose again.
Isaiah Foretold the Coming of a Righteous Victor apart from whom we would have been doomed.  And because He was counted among us sinners, He has made us victorious as well. The Righteous Victor made us Righteous and Victorious over Sin And Death. Our righteousness has been won For us. Our salvation thus is not something we achieve but a GIFT WE RECEIVE.
“Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore  sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53:12)
May we Believe, Receive, and LIVE with the Foretold Righteous Victor,  JESUS, as our Lord and Savior!
A Victorious Easter to all!
