Life is not perfect- what’s New?

We hope for perfection, joy, and best outcomes.  But we commit and see mistakes, feel sad, and attain less than the ideal.  We may have perfect moments but for how long? A few seconds or a couple of minutes maybe.  The realization of an imperfect life always kicks in.  Because that is life—imperfect.

We go for an ideal vacation but find ourselves quarreling with people we love or worrying about tasks we left behind and still need to do.  We finally produce the product of a demanding and tiring project, but see and hear flaws that seemingly offset all the effort and heart put into it.  We acquire properties- houses, cars, jewelries – and get grounded by the taxes, maintenance work, cleaning and safekeeping concerns that go with it. The big house becomes a burden with only one helper around.  The car needed an expensive repair.  The jewelry— good I have no expensive jewelry.   We belong to the best groups and connected to the best people in the land but surmise ourselves less than everyone.

We get more degrees and become swamped with more work.  We earn more money but have less time to enjoy them. You reach the top and become burdened with more responsibilities, complaints, and criticisms. Can we ignore the imperfection?

What do we do with this imperfect life? What do we do with the tasks, activities, and relationships we’ve gotten ourselves into and not be able to attain perfection, Joy, and best outcomes?  What do we do with mistakes, sadness, and bad outcomes?

Celebrate! (After a bath, some thoughts, and a prayer…) I say  C E L E B R A T E the imperfect life! Correct that mistake if you can— yes merrily!  Feel the pain and be happy you can even feel! YOU CAN FEEL! Wow!  Live with the consequences of the bad outcome you can’t change, and celebrate the Hope of better days ahead- the default destination of bad days.

Celebrate the Imperfect Life! Embrace it. Pay real estate  taxes, pay your debts- whether money or  time, once you can, joyfully (because You Can!).  Have that car repaired or be excited to buy a New one.  Clean the House and enjoy the exercise!  Savor the rest if you are sick. Write.  In work, play, rest, mandatory or voluntary, in peace and for peace, embrace the imperfection. Celebrate the imperfect Life. That can be New!

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” (Philippians 4:4)
